In short, I hated every character in this anthology except perhaps the Turtle/Tom and Croyd. I nearly stopped reading it several times, but cajoled myself into continuing each time because I hoped the next story would be better. I liked the first volume, and absolutely hated this one. I will continue with the series, but I doubt this will be one of my favorite installments.ĭon't let me dissuade you though, give it a shot if your interest is still there :).more Some of may have been personal preference and whatnot too *shrugs again* I seem to be in the minority here but its all good *shrugs* I did enjoy parts of the book at least. The characterization, atmosphere, and flow were all there just like before but for me, this one was not quite a dud but it came close. It had some tense moments but overall I am glad to see that it seems to be done with in this volume. The way it was ended was clever and (view spoiler) but for me, was not over soon enough. I kept putting this book down to take breaks from it (partly due to my migraine, and partly due to this plot point) and had to push myself through the last section. managed to be interesting and boring at the same time. The latter, well done and menacing in its own way. I felt dirty after reading a particular sex scene featuring the Astronomer *gags* while this was probably the purpose, I couldn't get through these sections fast enough and yet I wanted to run away at the same time.
